There is so much good food in Italy it\u2019s hard to believe that an American touring Italy would choose to eat at McDonald\u2019s in Italy but it happens. It might be that they really like McDonald’s but what I’ve noticed about myself is that it’s more just that, in a foreign land, I crave the familiar. Not necessarily because I think it’s good quality food, but more because it reminds me of home and I know exactly what to expect. Over a week, I might not crave anything from home but over several weeks I would. Even food from a familiar fast food chain. Because a known entity that\u2019s consistently mediocre is a safer bet than an unknown entity that might be excellent. I wish it weren\u2019t so. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
