It had rained the day before and I came to a spot in the road that was flooded with a huge puddle, one that was too large to step over or jump over and there was no way around it on the side either. I had to walk through the puddle and I got my shoes and socks soaking wet. The idea of running 20+ miles in soggy shoes and socks on the marathon day was not appealing. What would I do if it rained on the marathon day, or the day before, and this huge puddle was here?\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided that I would take off my shoes and socks, walk through barefoot, and then put on my socks and shoes again after. Not a huge problem. Not a brilliant solution. The bigger problem was that I hadn\u2019t thought about rain yet.
