I try to buy ones that will be okay the next day too, in case I don\u2019t finish it all on the first day. Yesterday, I was eating a day-old baguette. I made a sandwich with part of it for lunch and it was still good, especially when I toasted it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By dinnertime, it was noticeably harder and worse. This was a bit of a surprise to me because I had been thinking at lunchtime that, \u201cThis brand of baguette is good on Day 2.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But a day is longer than I thought. And maybe it\u2019s longer than you think. The day is long enough for things to change.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things could get worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things could get better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could have long enough to do something about it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I\u2019m not just talking about eating a sandwich.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh baguettes are always good on the day they are baked.
