Celebrate a good decision, not the good outcome

I played poker this past weekend. As in poker, so in life: There are things you can control and things you can’t control. There are things you know and things you don’t know. You make a decision and hope for the best—BUT your decision was a good one or a bad one at the time that you made the decision, not after the hoping and the waiting and the seeing. If you made a good decision, be happy with that—even if bad things happen after. If you made a bad decision, be upset with that—even if good things happen after. And, of course, try to know when to fold ‘em, know when to hold ‘em, know when to walk away, and know when to run.
