The first person you ask

The first person you ask might not know the answer to your question. Worse yet, they might give you an answer that’s incomplete or incorrect and neither of you will know. Unless you keep asking other people. So keep asking different people. Shopping for a car, I went to the manufacturer’s website and tried to find a dealer near me that had the car I wanted. They said there were 45 matches near me but none of them was an exact match. They said. But it turns out they were wrong because they didn’t have up-to-date information on the dealerships’ inventory. I found that out by going to the dealerships’ websites, and then by calling the dealerships to make sure they had the car I wanted.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Don’t judge an answer by the first respondent.
